From Planner to Lead Admin Growing with Phoenix
When Nadia joined Phoenix as a Planner/Scheduler, she was looking for a role close to home that offered stability and opportunity. Recommended by a former colleague, she quickly discovered that Phoenix was more than just a workplace — it was a community built on teamwork, growth, and genuine support.
A journey of growth and learning
From her first days planning repair engineer work and handling customer communications, Nadia showed a natural drive to take on more responsibility. Her curiosity and proactive approach opened doors to new areas, including renewables, solid fuel management, and invoicing, each adding to her technical and managerial skill set.
Her determination led to her appointment as Lead Admin for the Back Office, where she now oversees compliance, supports multiple departments, and plays a key role in implementing Propeller, the company’s major operational system. The rollout, which she describes as her proudest achievement, tested her leadership and collaboration skills — and showcased her ability to thrive under pressure.
“Everyone here wants you to succeed. Phoenix gives you the tools, the trust, and the encouragement to grow — and that makes all the difference.”
Teamwork, trust, and opportunity
Nadia credits Phoenix’s inclusive culture and strong teamwork as key to her progression. “The team here are passionate about what they do,” she says. “There’s always someone willing to share knowledge, listen, or lend a hand — whether it’s an engineer, manager, or director.” Through company initiatives and professional development opportunities, she has developed leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills that benefit both her work and personal life. She has also continued self-directed learning, completing advanced Excel training to improve data management and reporting.
Looking ahead
Now a mentor to newer colleagues and a go-to contact for the Propeller system, Nadia finds the most rewarding part of her role is helping others succeed. She continues to champion collaboration across departments and is always looking for ways to make systems and processes more efficient. Her advice to anyone joining Phoenix? “Take every opportunity to learn. Speak to everyone — from engineers to directors — and never be afraid to ask questions. At Phoenix, people genuinely want you to do well.” When asked to sum up Phoenix Gas Services in one word, Nadia doesn’t hesitate: “Community.”
