When conducting a preinstallation heating system survey in readiness to prepare a quotation at the end of 2020, our friendly surveyor got talking to the homeowners. Their boiler was very old and failing, so a replacement was needed in quick time. It was particularly urgent as the couple, who were approaching their 70s, were fostering twin babies. It transpired that the family had cared for many young and disadvantaged children over the years, in their fostering capacity. Taken with their plight, and in awe of their commitment, the surveyor was mindful of Phoenix’s company ethos to support the community we live and work in.

Without hesitation, the surveyor shared the situation with the Directors, and asked if the company could help them in any way. Unanimously, they agreed to supply and install a new, energy efficient heating system, without charge. Materials were ordered, labour allocated, and the system installation was completed within a week.

This inspirational couple were in clear need of help, in what had been an awful year of COVID 19. Our engineer was insightful when doing the survey and didn’t just go through a tick list of work related aspects. He understood the situation and recognised the time and energy the couple had selflessly given to the community over the years. We put in our time and energy because we install more than heating and hot water, we have a clear commitment to warming hearts and homes.
