Shrigley Court

Shrigley Court is a retirement complex comprising of 31, one bedroomed apartments in Bollington, Cheshire. Originally built in the 1970s, Peaks and Plains Housing Trust were looking to refurbish the plant room in 2020, by moving to a high-efficiency condensing system. This involved retaining some recently installed existing equipment, fitting 3 x 120kW Ideal Evomax 2 commercial boilers on a cascade jig, plate heat exchanger separation, stainless steel external gas supply with bespoke controls, and flue system.

Phoenix assigned a dedicated project management team, lead site installation engineers and due to the skills set available to us, completed the majority of the work inhouse. It involved compilation of a construction phase plan and RAMs for a safe and environmentally friendly strip out, category B asbestos removal, all health and safety compliance, tenant liaison, and combined materials procurement to secure the best deals and timely deliveries.

We suggested an alternative to the TREND based system specified and utilised the service of a controls specialist electrical company, that we had long experience of working with. This produced a substantial saving on the initial installation and build cost, as well as ongoing maintenance savings.

The boilers were commissioned by the manufacturer to activate extended warranties. All handover packs, operations and maintenance manuals, electrical installation certificates, flue design specs and warranties were produced bespoke to the fit out with onsite training for the operation staff provided by Phoenix’s Project Manager and Installation Engineer.
