This week, Phoenix Group was delighted to welcome students from The Co-op Ormiston, Birches Head and Wreake Valley Academies for an exciting and hands-on work experience programme at our headquarters in Tunstall and our Oldbury branch.
Throughout the week, the students gained valuable insight into the building services and engineering industry by taking part in a combination of classroom learning and practical activities. Designed to provide a real understanding of the sector, the programme gave attendees the opportunity to explore both the theory behind our work and the day-to-day operations that keep our projects running.
Working alongside our experienced trainers and colleagues, the students developed practical skills across a range of specialist areas, including domestic boilers, commercial heating systems, and renewable technologies such as solar PV. They also had the opportunity to put their new knowledge into practice through hands-on activities, including pipe bending and soldering, giving them a genuine taste of life in the industry.
At Phoenix Group, we are passionate about supporting the next generation of engineers and helping young people discover the wide range of rewarding careers available within the sector. By offering meaningful work experience opportunities, we hope to inspire confidence, build practical skills, and encourage future talent to pursue careers in engineering and construction.
