After more than two decades of incredible service, we’re celebrating a major milestone at Phoenix as our much-respected Operations Director, Nigel Jackson, prepares to take early retirement this June.
Nigel’s journey with Phoenix began back in 1999, when he joined forces with our founder, the late Phil Grocott. From day one, he’s been at the heart of the business—driving operational excellence, championing safety and compliance, and helping to shape the Phoenix we know today.
By 2004, Nigel had stepped into the role of Operations Director, where he’s played a crucial role in ensuring our operations are not only efficient and well-structured but also ready to meet the challenges of an ever-changing industry.
Nigel’s commitment, calm leadership, and technical know-how have left a lasting impact on our team and our customers. While we’re sad to see him step back from his day-to-day role, we’re delighted that he’ll continue to support us in a technical consultancy capacity for the rest of the year.
As we begin the search for a new Operations Director in 2026, our interim team—led by Paul Compson and supported by Yvonne Keay and Ryan Wood—will continue to drive Phoenix forward with energy and focus.
